After the introduction of new regulations for low-speed electric vehicles, will lead-acid batteries be replaced by lithium batteries
In China, the draft of "Technical Conditions for Pure Electric Passenger Vehicles" has become a topic of discussion, because it includes low-speed electric vehicles (old-age scooters) into the standard and sets up a new category called micro-electric. But one of them, which many people may not care about, is the requirement for the energy density of the power battery. In the draft of the national standard of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, it is stipulated that the energy density of the battery system of the vehicle should not be lower than 70Wh/kg. At present, most low-speed electric vehicles on the market use EVF lead-acid batteries, and the large energy density is not 70Wh/kg. Once the national standard is implemented, the power batteries carried by the new low-speed electric vehicles will no longer be lead-acid batteries. acid.
There is no doubt that among the existing power batteries, the energy density can reach 70wh/kg, only lithium batteries. In the future, low-speed electric vehicles that meet the new national standard will be equipped with lithium batteries. So, will lead-acid batteries be insulated from low-speed electric vehicles? Nope.
In addition to the power battery, pure electric vehicles also need to be equipped with a starter battery, and the high-current discharge of the starter battery can only be done by lead-acid batteries. Although lead-acid batteries no longer exist as power batteries, the starter battery on each car will still be equipped.
Lead-acid batteries will not withdraw from the old-age scooter market for the time being, but their role has changed, from power batteries to starting batteries, but they still play an important role in low-speed electric vehicles.
