First electric scooter national standard officially launched in China

On November 16, 2021, the national standard launch meeting of "General Technical Specifications for Electric Scooters" was successfully held online. A total of 40 people from nearly 30 units including China National Light Industry Federation, China Bicycle Association, Wuxi Inspection and Research Institute, and No. 9 Company. More leaders and experts attended the meeting. It is reported that the standard is reported and implemented by SAC TC155 (National Bicycle Standardization Technical Committee). As China's first national standard for electric scooters, this standard specifies the requirements, test methods and instructions for electric scooters, aiming to further regulate the development of the industry in a healthy and orderly direction. At the kick-off meeting, the participating leaders explained the necessity and urgency of starting the drafting of the national standard for electric scooters, and gave clear instructions for the drafting work. Among them, the participating units conducted in-depth discussions on the draft national standard of "General Technical Specifications for Electric Scooters", and reached an agreement on the standard framework, which laid a solid foundation for the next step.
